Hats off to Derby Day

Johnston Health Foundation’s party for a cause drew more than 1,000 people and raised over $200,000 during UNC Health Johnston Derby Day at Portofino on Saturday, May 3. There was much to see—from the horse races at the dirt track, to the fashion show underneath the pavilion.

High-tech manikins help health care professionals practice, learn new skills

A family of high-fidelity manikins, who blink, cry and even give birth, is helping nurses and other health care professionals practice and learn new skills. These sophisticated models live mostly in the education classroom at Johnston Medical Mall but also travel to hospital departments for additional trainings.
